Hybrid Snakes

This category deserves some explanation, especially for those of you with an aversion to hybridization. First, let me say, we will always be 100% honest with you about the genetics of any and all animals you purchase from us.

Several years ago, when the first hybrids came on the scene, I wasn't impressed. Although, they were beautiful animals, I found them to be more disturbing than attractive. My two main concerns were that if released into the wild they could wreak havoc and that they could be easily misrepresented when sold.

I had a change of heart after long discussions with several of the larger breeders in this country and Dr. Bechtel, an expert on variants. It became clear that any non-native animal released into the wild could have detrimental effects, but that they would be more than likely be temporary. As far as being misrepresented when sold...well, if you've been in the business any length of time, 20 years for me, you know an animal doesn't have to be a hybrid for this to happen.

After working with a few hybrids, I found them to be even more robust feeders and to grow more quickly than the pure counter parts. If you're against hybridization, I hope you'll at least keep an open mind.
